O mais importante evento de saneamento ambiental do Brasil ocorreu na capital mineira de 21 a 24 de maio, no Expominas, juntamente com a Fitabes – Feira Internacional de Tecnologias de Saneamento Ambiental, em edição ampliada, com 108 estandes participantes.
Um sucesso de participação e engajamento na discussão dos temas mais relevantes do Saneamento Ambiental no Brasil. Assim foi o 32º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, o Congresso da ABES, que foi promovido no Expominas, em Belo Horizonte – MG, de 21 a 24 de maio. Com um público de 7 mil congressistas e visitantes da Feira, 60 painéis e mais de 300 especialistas de todo o país, o Congresso discutiu os grandes temas do setor, como a universalização do saneamento, regulação, perdas de águas, impactos das mudanças climáticas, inovação e diversas temáticas de água, esgoto, drenagem e resíduos sólidos, entre outras.
Promovida pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES, esta edição do mais importante evento de saneamento ambiental do Brasil teve como tema central “Saneamento ambiental: desafios para a universalização e a sustentabilidade”. O Congresso da ABES é o ponto de encontro do setor e dos sanitaristas do país. A realização contemplou ainda o Campeonato de Operadores, o Espaço Startup, as atividades do Jovens Profissionais de Saneamento, incluindo a final nacional do Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo 2023, e as Olimpíadas JPS. Estiveram presentes no encerramento o presidente nacional da ABES, Alceu Guérios Bittencourt, o vice-presidente nacional Mário Guerino, a presidente da ABES-MG, seção anfitriã do evento, Flávia Mourão, a diretora nacional Lúcia Coelho, o secretário geral da entidade, Marcel Sanches, a diretora executiva Alesandra Peres e Josivan Cardoso, coordenador da Câmara Temática de Gestão de Recursos Hídricos da ABES, que atuou como mestre de cerimônia.
Os painéis desta edição foram divididos entre diálogos setoriais, sessões de câmaras temáticas e sessões com quatro eixos: esgoto, resíduos e economia circular, recursos hídricos e meio ambiente, e desenvolvimento operacional e inovação das empresas de saneamento. As discussões contaram com presenças de presidentes e profissionais de empresas de saneamento públicas e privadas, órgãos públicos municipais, estaduais e federal e universidades. Alguns dos maiores especialistas do país estiveram presentes, como Léo Heller, ex-relator da ONU para o Direto à Água e ao Saneamento.
Em conjunto com o Congresso foi realizada a Feira Internacional de Tecnologias de Saneamento Ambiental – FITABES, reunindo os maiores e mais atuantes fornecedores de tecnologia, materiais e equipamentos do setor de saneamento. Em edição ampliada, a Feira teve 108 estandes participantes. “Uma edição que nos deixou muito satisfeitos, orgulhosos e otimistas para o futuro da FITABES e da ABES”, celebrou Alceu Bittencourt, no encerramento.
“Houve um empenho muito grande para que o Congresso fosse de conteúdo técnico também, que fizesse jus à história da ABES de ser uma entidade importante para a comunidade acadêmica do saneamento e do meio ambiente e que é muito importante para a ABES. É o coração da entidade. Foi muito bom ter visto as salas de trabalho cheias, e o report que a gente teve dos avaliadores de trabalhos foi de muito boa qualidade. Por outro lado, nos painéis, nós procuramos fazer também jus à amplitude da ABES como entidade de saneamento, de meio ambiente, de saúde pública, de gestão de recursos hídricos, buscando inovação. Também de representar os segmentos do setor”, enfatizou. “A ABES também é ampla nesse sentido, não é uma entidade de segmento, é uma entidade de todos os segmentos do saneamento. Então, nós procuramos ter todos aqui: os fabricantes, a consultoria, os reguladores, a academia, os prestadores privados, os prestadores de empresas de economia mista estaduais, serviços municipais, as associações de todos os segmentos. Nosso temário procurou refletir isso, abrir claramente espaço à discussão e divergência, ao contraditório, não procuramos afastar a discussão. A discussão foi aberta e, em alguns momentos, pode ter sido acirrada, mas foi também fraterna porque o sentimento aqui é de um interesse de convergência”, reforçou o presidente.
Alceu reforcou ainda que sendo um setor tão complexo como o saneamento, se tiver capacidade de falar em conjunto, será mais forte. “Enquanto ele falar em várias vozes, é muito difícil que os outros compreendam. Porque os problemas não são simples de compreensão. Nós ficamos também muito satisfeitos por termos defendido as posições que temos defendido, qual o sentido da universalização, palavra que não pode ser banalizada, que tem que ser entendida como atender aos que realmente precisam e têm mais dificuldade de ter o serviço. Essa questão central e várias outras, ficamos contentes de a ABES ter encaminhado suas posições com clareza nesse debate, ouvindo e respeitando as demais posições, no sentido de que o clima do Congresso foi de busca de convergência. Talvez, possamos fazer alguma diferença, nos desdobramentos do Congresso a partir disso”, avaliou Alceu Bittencourt
O presidente nacional da ABES agradeceu a todos que participaram do evento e a todos que ajudaram a construir a esiççao 2023. “Vamos pra Brasília, daqui a dois anos, com muita vontade de fazer um Congresso tão bom quanto este e, se possível, maior que este”, concluiu.
Também comemorando o êxito da realização, Flávia Mourão, presidente da ABES-MG, seção anfitriã do evento, disse que chegou ao final “muito motivada a continuar essa caminhada pelo saneamento. E muito mais disposta a trabalhar junto a tantas pautas importantes que precisamos dar continuidade”. Flávia deixou seus agradecimentos a todos que contribuiram com o evento. “Parabéns pelo envolvimento e dedicação”.
A presidente da ABES-MG mencionou ainda a parceria com a HidroBR [empresa de soluções ambientais] na realização da iniciativa de neutralização das emissões de gases de efeito estufa durante o evento. “Eles fizeram toda a contagem, e tivemos um painel mostrando o que foi possível neutralizar com a compra de créditos de carbono. A ideia é que pudessem dar nossa contribuição pessoal, reconhecendo o impacto gerado por nossas atividades pessoais durante o Congresso. Essa neutralização aconteceu através da compra de créditos de carbono da cooperativa ASCAP (Associação de Catadores de Papel, Papelão e Materiais Reaproveitáveis)”, frisou. Saiba mais aqui
