O 32º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (CBESA) – o Congresso da ABES 2023, realizado de 21 a 24 de maio, no Expominas, em Belo Horizonte/MG, recebeu um side event sobre ESG (Governança ambiental, social e corporativa). O encontro foi organizado pelo Comitê Nacional da Qualidade ABES (CNQA), com apresentação de Carlos Schauff, consultor em gestão ESG.
Na oportunidade, Schauff apresentou dois principais produtos da ABES e do CNQA – que promove o Prêmio Nacional da Qualidade em Saneamento (PNQS). O primeiro foi a premiação “As Melhores em Gestão do Saneamento Ambiental”, voltada para operadores e seus fornecedores.
“O prêmio é baseado nos Critérios do Modelo de Excelência ESG 2.0 do Saneamento Ambiental – o MEGSA ESG – e tem o objetivo de captar, reconhecer e disseminar experiências bem-sucedidas de gestão ESG 2.0”, explica Schauff.
O segundo produto destacado foi o ABES ESG Index, instrumento que permite medir e sinalizar para o mercado, numa escala de D- até A+, o desempenho, individual e integrado, de todas as ações ESG das organizações que atuam na esfera do saneamento ambiental.
“O instrumento desdobra os ODS das Nações Unidas em propósitos obrigatórios para organizações do setor e avalia as ações afirmativas internas e externas a eles associadas. As exigências do ESG 2.0 incluem, por exemplo, a negativação de carbono (mais que a neutralização), o incentivo ao consumo responsável e a atuação da organização para disseminar a sustentabilidade nas suas esferas de influência”, detalha também o consultor.
O Congresso da ABES, o mais importante evento de saneamento ambiental do Brasil, é uma realização da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES e aconteceu juntamente com a Feira Internacional de Tecnologias de Saneamento Ambiental – Fitabes, que teve uma edição ampliada, com novidades em tecnologia e inovação.
