ABES-SP, em parceria com outras entidades, promove reunião técnica sobre epidemiologia e saneamento ambiental

A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – Seção São Paulo (ABES-SP), juntamente com a Associação de Engenheiros da Sabesp (AESabesp), a Associação dos Profissionais Universitários da Sabesp (APU), e o Capítulo Latino Americano e Caribe da International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE/CAP) realizarão, no dia 03 de junho, a I Reunião Técnica de Abordagem da Epidemiologia Ambiental, Saneamento Ambiental e Carga Global de Doenças do Saneamento. O evento conta ainda com o apoio do Comitê das Bacias Hidrográficas dos Rios Piracicaba, Capivari e Jundiaí (CBH-PCJ), do Comitê Alto Tietê e da Associação Interamericana de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (AIDIS).

A iniciativa atende a demandas do contexto atual, em que temos industrialização, aumento populacional crescente, deficiência do saneamento, presença de inúmeras substancias microbiológicos e químicos presentes no ambiente com potencial de contaminação ambiental, para além das conhecidas doenças infecciosas e dos surtos de doenças de transmissão por agente microbiológico, o que torna necessário identificar carga de doenças e os impactos da deficiência do saneamento na saúde humana das diferentes regiões.

O encontro, que será realizado na sede da ABES-SP, irá abordar os estudos epidemiológicos existentes com representantes de instituições técnicas, explicando como utilizar essa metodologia no setor de saneamento. Nele também serão apresentados e discutidos dados de surtos do sistema de informações em saúde – DATASUS, de saneamento e de mudanças climáticas com dados epidemiológicos de saúde. O objetivo da reunião também é criar um grupo de trabalho para a temática no Brasil, além de divulgar o tema para sociedade civil.
