A etapa final do Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo, que teve a fase brasileira apoiada pelo Programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento da ABES, foi realizada nesta quinta-feira, 28 de agosto na Suécia (clique aqui e veja imagens na plataforma do prêmio) . Em 2020, o JPS será responsável por toda a organização do Prêmio no Brasil.
Nesta 23ª edição, a iniciativa bateu o recorde de países envolvidos: foram 35, entre os que enviaram concorrentes e seus organizadores locais. Em sua terceira edição no Brasil, com organização da Câmara de Comércio Sueco-Brasileira – Swedcham, o Prêmio recebeu 27 projetos. Além do apoio JPS/ABES, a edição de 2019contou com patrocínio do Instituto Iguá e Xylen e apoio institucional da Adasa.
O trabalho que representou o país, intitulado “Síntese de partículas de magnetita associadas a carvão ativo e poliuretano para a adsorção de corantes e íons de Cd e Co”, foi elaborado pelos alunos Livia Luiza Pinaso e Victor Marotta Souza Cruz da Escola ETEC Irmã Agostina, na cidade de São Paulo, e orientado pela professora Márcia Freitas Silva. O protótipo desenvolvido propõe a remoção de metais da água por adsorção em uma associação de carvão ativado e Poliuretano. ”Os alunos apresentaram interagindo em inglês com os jurados e o público. É uma oportunidade ímpar de mostrar o trabalho que vem sendo desenvolvido país e também para os estudantes”, ressalta Ana Carolina Deveza, Gerente do Stockholm Junior Water Prize Brazil.
A programação contou com atividades sociais e técnicas, como as visitas à sede da Xylen, patrocinadora global do Prêmio, e ao KTH Royal Institute of Technology, importante universidade em Estocolmo focada em empreendedorismo, startup e inovação, o jantar de premiação e a visita à prefeitura da cidade, onde ocorreu o banquete real com o rei e a rainha da Suécia.
