Encontro organizado pela Câmara Temática de Gestão de Perdas da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental acontecerá entre os dias 5 e 7 de julho, em São Paulo, e será o maior já realizado na América Latina, com presenças de especialistas internacionais da Europa, dos Estados Unidos e da África do Sul, entre outros.
Para quem ainda não se inscreveu para o Seminário Internacional “Controle de perdas e o enfrentamento da escassez hídrica”, que será realizado entre os dias 5 e 7 de julho, um lembrete: foi prorrogado para 30 de maio o prazo para pagamento da inscrição com parcelamento em até três vezes.
O Seminário, organizado pela Câmara Temática de Gestão de Perdas da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES, já conta com mais de 200 inscritos. Este será o maior encontro do tema realizado na América Latina, com presenças de grandes especialistas mundiais, além de palestrantes brasileiros. O seminário é uma das etapas preparatórias para o 29º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, que será realizado em São Paulo em 2017 e que integra a construção do Fórum Mundial da Água, a ser realizado em Brasília em 2018.
Serão dois dias de palestras, debates e apresentações de estudos de caso. Entre as presenças internacionais confirmadas estão Ronnie Mckenzie (África do Sul), Roland Liemberger (Áustria), Alan Wyatt (Estados Unidos), Sue Mosburg (Estados Unidos), Julian Thornton (Inglaterra) e Enric Castelvi (Espanha).
O tema “perdas de água” é um dos mais relevantes do saneamento em todo o mundo. No Brasil, as questões relacionadas às perdas entraram definitivamente na pauta do setor, da imprensa e da sociedade em geral com a crise de escassez hídrica enfrentada no país (leia o estudo A Crise Hídrica e a Redução dos Índices de Perdas: http://abes-dn.org.br/pdf/CriseHidrica_indices.pdf ).
Para Roberval Tavares de Souza, membro da Diretoria Nacional da ABES e coordenador do seminário, a iniciativa da ABES vem ao encontro das necessidades do setor. “O seminário internacional será o maior evento sobre perdas na América Latina. Logo depois da região sudeste do Brasil atravessar uma das maiores crises hídricas de sua história, é importante a reflexão sobre o quanto o programa de perdas ajudou a superar esta fase”, ressalta. “Vamos receber vários especialistas do mundo, tanto da Europa, quanto da América do Norte, América Latina e África. Esperamos mais de 500 participantes. Este é o momento do associado da ABES obter mais conhecimento e avançar nas questões técnicas relativas à redução de perdas.”
O coordenador da Câmara Temática de Gestão de Perdas da ABES, Ricardo Röver Machado, ressalta que, de fato, alavancada pela grave e histórica crise hídrica que se acometeu sobre uma das maiores regiões metropolitanas do planeta, a preocupação com a redução das perdas de água tomou definitivamente o seu lugar de destaque. “Não apenas pela sua relação direta com as questões de meio ambiente e sustentabilidade, como também pela sua importância respectiva ao equilíbrio financeiro das empresas de saneamento”.
“Nos últimos anos, com as recorrentes escassez e crise nos recursos hídricos, aliados à crescente demanda por melhores serviços e parcimônia de custos, ao aumento da população e ao crescimento desordenado das cidades, as preocupações quanto à melhoria operacional e ao controle de perdas nos sistemas de água passam a ser fundamentais à sobrevivência de qualquer operador, não importando seu tamanho, e se público ou privado”, frisa Dante Ragazzi Pauli, presidente nacional da ABES.
