ABES Notícias – O seminário acontecerá num momento interessante do Brasil, em que regiões como a Sudeste, onde encontra-se o estado de São Paulo, acabaram de superar uma fase de crise de escassez hídrica, que deixou muitas lições aos brasileiros sobre consciência de consumo de água e também lições de gestão. O tema das perdas de água passou a ser um dos mais abordados no país. Neste contexto, como o senhor vê a troca de informações entre especialistas internacionais e brasileiros no seminário?
Roland Liemberger – Peritos em perdas de água no Brasil contribuíram muito para a experiência internacional na área. Um grande número de especialistas da SABESP desenharam excelentes contratos de redução de perdas de água baseados em performance. Há muito tempo que profissionais internacionais podem aprender com os nossos colegas do Brasil. E esperamos sinceramente que a nossa presença e nossas contribuições para o evento ajudem nossos colegas e amigos brasileiros a obter mais apoio político para mais investimentos na redução de perdas – que é desesperadamente necessária porque a próxima seca pode estar a apenas alguns meses ou anos de acontecer.
ABES Notícias – Que ações foram as mais importantes nos países ou nas grandes cidades que conseguiram significativas reduções nos seus índices de perdas? Que iniciativas técnicas ou gerenciais seriam mais adequadas ao cenário brasileiro?
Roland Liemberger – Vários especialistas no Brasil têm o “know how” para reduzir perdas de água, mas isso, por si só, não é suficiente. Eles enfrentam muitas restrições financeiras, políticas e organizacionais. E uma vez que tempo é fundamental – é difícil entender por que não há grande impulso em todo o Brasil para obter a ajuda de empresas privadas especializadas para reduzir as perdas de água o mais rapidamente possível. Porque todos nós sabemos: é um trabalho possível de ser realizado!
