Nesta fase será selecionado o projeto que representará o Brasil na etapa internacional do SJWP em Estocolmo em agosto de 2017.
A iniciativa visa a:
– Incentivar o desenvolvimento da ciência como alicerce para a resolução de problemas práticos e conflitos hídricos;
´Promover um ambiente que encoraje a prototipação, a criação de modelos de negócio e o empreendedorismo para todos os participantes;
– Desenvolver a capacidade de expressão dos jovens participantes;
– Fomentar a criação de redes de contatos, que são conquistas para toda a vida;
– Mostrar ao mundo o potencial criativo e inovador do Brasil.
O prêmio
O prêmio jovem (Stockholm Junior Water Prize – SJWP) congrega jovens mentes inovadoras de todo o mundo, encorajando seu interesse em desafios relacionados a água e sustentabilidade. Criada em 1997, a premiação conta anualmente com a participação de centenas de milhares de jovens que inscrevem seus projetos nas etapas nacionais. A Princesa Victoria da Suécia é Patrona do prêmio. O Instituto Internacional de Águas de Estocolmo (SIWI) é seu organizador.
Os projetos vencedores das seletivas nacionais do SJWP, de forte embasamento científico e focados em questões práticas do mundo das águas, são apresentados durante a Semana Mundial da Água de Estocolmo (World Water Week in Stockholm), um evento anual organizado pelo SIWI anualmente, que é considerado o ponto focal para as discussões relacionadas à água.
O vencedor da etapa internacional do Stockholm Junior Water Prize recebe um prêmio de 15,000 USD e a escola vencedora recebe um prêmio de 5000 USD. O segundo colocado recebe um prêmio de excelência de 3000 USD.
