Mensagem do Presidente: ABES, mais forte em 2018 e pronta para os desafios de 2019

Caros amigos associados,

Costumamos dizer que os desafios trazem também oportunidades. E 2018 provou esta máxima (assista aqui à vídeo-retrospectiva).

Foi um ano de muitos desafios, mas também um ano em que o Saneamento Ambiental finalmente ocupou o centro das discussões nacionais.

A ABES, juntamente com outras entidades do setor, liderou uma campanha de conscientização sobre a MP 844. Foi um momento em que a ABES mostrou-se em sua forma mais pura: engajada e unida, com todas as suas Seções Estaduais pelo país trabalhando juntas! Mas mantendo a convicção de que o saneamento só avançará no país com a união do público e do privado. Não importa ser público ou privado, o importante é ser eficiente!

Este foi um ano especial, com a realização do Fórum Mundial da Água no Brasil, Copa do Mundo e Eleições. E em cada um desses grandes acontecimentos, a ABES se fez presente.

A entidade teve participação singular no Fórum Mundial da Água, desde de sua construção, com vários de nossos associados integrando os diversos comitês temáticos.

Como já é tradição, lançamos durante a Copa do Mundo o levantamento “Copa do Mundo do Saneamento”, alertando a população para o fato de que, infelizmente, continuamos na lanterninha quando se trata de condições sanitárias.

E em junho também levamos ao conhecimento do setor e da sociedade o Ranking ABES da Universalização do Saneamento 2018, um estudo que se consolida no Brasil como referência das condições de saneamento e seus impactos na saúde em todo o país.

Outra grande realização da entidade foi a promoção, em setembro, do “Debate ABES: Propostas do Próximo Presidente para o Saneamento no Brasil”, reunindo os representantes de candidatos à Presidência, que detalharam sua agenda ao setor. Produzimos ainda o documento Proposta para o saneamento no Brasil ABES aos candidatos à Presidência da República 2018, entregue a todos os candidatos das eleições deste ano.

Todas essas iniciativas permitiram que ocupássemos grande espaço na mídia, com reportagens nos principais veículos.  Intensificamos também nossa atuação nas redes sociais, utilizando diversas ferramentas, como Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter e WhatsApp.

No âmbito da qualificação, a ABES, por meio da UNIABES, a maior plataforma EAD do Brasil de cursos para o Saneamento Ambiental, ofereceu diversos cursos, cumprindo sua missão de levar mais conhecimento aos profissionais para melhoria do setor.

Nossas Câmaras Temáticas realizaram vários eventos pelo país, como o “IX Seminário Nacional” e o “IV Encontro Latino-Americano de Saneamento Rural”, em Quixadá/CE, o “Seminário Internacional de Uso de Lodo de Esgoto em Solos”, em Belo Horizonte/MG, o “5º Seminário Nacional de Gestão de Perdas de Água e Eficiência Energética”, em Florianópolis/SC, e “XIII Seminário Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos”, em Cuiabá/MT, entre outros.

Nossas Seções Estaduais empenharam-se na promoção de mais atividades locais. E o Programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento expandiu-se para mais estados brasileiros, com jovens atuantes que demonstram que o Saneamento Ambiental estará em boas mãos com as gerações futuras.

Também tivemos, este ano, a realização, em Foz do Iguaçu/PR, do XIV Simpósio Ítalo Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – Sibesa. E integramos, no Porto, em Portugal, o 18º Silubesa – Simpósio Luso-Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental.

E passamos a investir mais em inovação: além de parcerias em iniciativas como o Pitch Sabesp, a ABES agora promove o Espaço Startup como ação permanente em seus eventos, trazendo ideias inovadoras e mais tecnologia para o setor de saneamento.

Um ano tão intenso não poderia se encerrar de forma mais grandiosa: realizamos, pela primeira vez no Brasil, a Rio Water Week, evento internacional que reuniu 2.300 participantes, com mais de 60 especialistas de outros países, e que consolidou a ABES no cenário mundial das discussões sobre a água. Juntamente com a Rio Water Week, promovemos a 22ª edição do PNQS – Prêmio Nacional da Qualidade em Saneamento – Ciclo 2018. A premiação, considerada o “Oscar do Saneamento”, coroa o trabalho excepcional do CNQA – Comitê Nacional da Qualidade ABES pela promoção da excelência em gestão nas empresas de saneamento do Brasil.

Em 2019, teremos muitas novidades: em junho realizaremos em Natal/RN o 30º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, o maior, mais expressivo e tradicional encontro do setor no Brasil.

Oferecemos mais cursos por meio da UNIABES e lançaremos a terceira edição do Ranking ABES da Universalização do Saneamento, entre outras iniciativas.

Foram muitas realizações 2018 e tudo isso foi possível graças à sua participação, aos nossos parceiros e patrocinadores e à paixão e engajamento de dezenas de voluntários.

Meu agradecimento a todos que fizeram parte desta história.

Que em 2019, completando 53 anos de existência, continuemos fortes e unidos para trabalharmos pelo Saneamento Ambiental, pela saúde e pela qualidade de vida no Brasil.
