O Observatório da Saúde Ambiental, um site que concentra informações sobre uso, consumo e agravos à saúde relacionados a Agrotóxicos no Estado de São Paulo, entrou no ar na semana passada. O site tem objetivo de propiciar a integração de dados de apoio para definição de estratégias de prevenção e de controle de agravos decorrentes da exposição a agrotóxicos e de promoção à saúde.

Encontram-se disponíveis no Observatório as seguintes informações:

– Diagnóstico de uso/consumo de agrotóxicos no Estado de São Paulo;

– Perfil de agravos à saúde relacionados ao uso/consumo de agrotóxicos no Estado de São Paulo;

O Brasil é o país que mais consome agrotóxicos no mundo. O estado de São Paulo, com uma população que representa 21% da população brasileira, é também um grande consumidor (IBGE).

Os impactos ocasionados pelo uso e consumo de agrotóxicos diretamente na saúde são importantes, mas muitas vezes não identificados, envolvendo principalmente grupos específicos de pessoas mas também todos os consumidores.
