IV Seminário de Perdas: entrevista com o palestrante Gustavo Lamon

Entre os dias 31 de julho e 2 de agosto, a Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES e a Seção Paraná da entidade promoverão, em Curitiba, no Paraná, a quarta edição do Seminário de Gestão e Controle de Perdas de Água. (inscrições aqui.). O encontro ocorrerá no Auditório da Universidade Positivo.

Com o tema “Água e energia no saneamento: práticas para a redução de desperdício”, o objetivo do evento é potencializar a atuação acerca da engenharia empregada nas práticas para a redução de desperdício água de modo racional para efetivamente sejam obtidos os melhores resultados com o mínimo de investimentos. Confira a programação preliminar.

Veja, a seguir, a entrevista com o engenheiro Gustavo Lamon, sócio proprietário das empresas Lamon Produtos e Isoil Lamon – um dos palestrantes do encontro. O especialista, que vai abordar o tema “Aspectos Técnicos sobre Medidores”, destaca a importância da iniciativa da ABES, e comenta sobre como a crise hídrica, que atingiu o Brasil entre 2014 e 2015, afetou a gestão de perdas e quais são os principais desafios no cenário.

ABES Notícias – Qual a importância do evento e da discussão sobre o tema água e energia, focando nas práticas para a redução de desperdício”?

Gustavo Lamon – A redução do desperdício de nossas fontes FINITAS de recursos naturais, como é o caso da água, é de uma importância ímpar. Vivemos em um país, comparativamente a outros países no mundo, com abundância hídrica mas o que percebemos nos últimos anos é que estes recursos, por maior que sejam, vem tornando-se cada vez mais escasso. O culpado de todo este cenário que vem se desenhando ao longo dos últimos anos somos nós mesmos. A necessidade de adotarmos medidas no combate ao desperdício deve ser para “ontem” e não hoje!

A iniciativa da ABES neste tocante é de grande importância, haja visto a capacidade desta organização ter em reunir profissionais do setor, políticos e sociedade apresentando a todos a importância do nosso bem maior, a água.

ABES Notícias – Na sua visão, qual é o cenário do Brasil em relação a perdas de água, considerando a crise de escassez hídrica que atingiu algumas regiões do país entre 2014 e 2015?

Gustavo Lamon – Para resumir em uma palavra a situação hídrica do Brasil, esta palavra seria  grave. A escassez hídrica que assombra grandes centros como São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, dentre outros, poderíamos classificar como uma “amostra” do que pode vir pela frente se nada for adotado. Investimento em tecnologia no combate às perdas, capacitação do nosso corpo técnico, seja para utilização das novas tecnologias, bem como poder discernir quanto à qualidade dos equipamentos e materiais a serem adquiridos pelas suas empresas, é de fundamental importância para que consigamos atingir índices de perdas satisfatórios.

De nada adianta conscientizarmos a população quanto à importância do uso racional da água, sendo que as empresas que captam, tratam e distribuem a água são justamente as que mais desperdiçam nos vazamentos durante o processo de distribuição da água. Insta salientar que tornando nossas empresas de saneamento mais eficientes a consequência é torna-las cada vez mais lucrativas, isso mesmo, lucrativas.

Obviamente, os desafios são vários no setor, mas acreditamos que a ação de “payback” mais rápida no saneamento, sem dúvida alguma, é a redução de perdas. Se a gestão das empresas de saneamento destinasse estas economias geradas em reinvestimento no combate às perdas, não temos dúvidas que teríamos uma autossuficiência das empresas no intuito de investimentos no combate às perdas.

ABES Notícias – De que forma essa crise afetou a questão da gestão e controle de perdas e como o setor de saneamento está lidando com a situação?

Gustavo Lamon – Os acontecimentos dos últimos anos, principalmente no sudeste, acreditamos que tenha assustado empresas como SABESP, COPASA, CEDAE dentre outras. Uma coisa com certeza foi fundamental, a partir da crise hídrica no sudeste iniciada em 2015, em virtude de sua repercussão, acordou o mercado de saneamento, bem como a sociedade. Se nenhuma ação for tomada agora, sem dúvida alguma, vivenciaremos uma escassez hídrica nos grandes centros em um futuro muito próximo.

Importante salientar que os investimentos não devem ser aplicados em ampliação da capacidade de produção e sim na diminuição das perdas, tornando a distribuição cada vez mais eficiente.

ABES Notícias –  Quais são os principais desafios, neste sentido?

Gustavo Lamon – Sem dúvida alguma, os principais desafios são:

Interesse;

Investimento em tecnologias corretas;

Capacitação.

ABES Notícias – Poderia comentar, brevemente, o tema da sua palestra “Aspectos Técnicos sobre Medidores”?

Gustavo Lamon – Não existe uma ação isolada no combate às perdas. Este combate é realizado em ações conjuntas, seja na micromedição, macromedição, bem como a pesquisa de vazamento.

No aspecto da macromedição, os “Aspectos Técnicos sobre Medidores” é de muita importância para que os usuários tenham a consciência que toda tecnologia aplicada à medição possui limitações e estas limitações precisam ser respeitadas. Uma falha cultural do nosso mercado é o da compra do menor preço que nem sempre é a mais vantajosa.

Em virtude da falta de conhecimento específico na área de instrumentação, as empresas de saneamento tomam decisões baseadas apenas no preço, o que acarreta sempre em resultados catastróficos. Não raro, as empresas acabam tendo que comprar novos equipamentos em um curto intervalo de tempo.

A frase abaixo resume de forma sintética e objetiva a importância do nosso tema:

“Jamais devemos medir por medir e tão pouco estimar, uma vez que erros nessas medições ou estimativas acarretará sempre em tomadas de decisões equivocadas podendo causar prejuízos imensuráveis.”
