Fórum Mundial da Água: ABES presente na cerimônia de encerramento

A cerimônia de encerramento do 8º Fórum mundial da Água foi marcada pela comemoração e pelo sucesso da edição brasileira do evento, que aconteceu em Brasília, de 17 a 23 de março de 2018. Após apresentação de resultados, entrega do prêmio Quioto e dos pronunciamentos das autoridades, foi feita a passagem da bandeira do Fórum mundial da Água para a comitiva do Senegal, onde será a edição de 2021. A cerimônia aconteceu no Centro de Convenções Ulysses Guimarães nessa sexta-feira e foi prestigiada por vários associados da ABES, entre eles, Alceu Guérios Bittencourt, da conselheiro da ABES-SP e um dos oito especialistas mundiais que integraram o Comitê Temático desta edição (veja aqui balanço de Alceu sobre o evento), Marisa Guimarães e Luis Eduardo Grisotto, diretores da ABES-SP, e Alvaro Diogo, coordenador nacional do JPS.

Durante a solenidade, membros da organização do Fórum expuseram os resultados obtidos na 8ª edição do evento. O ministro de Relações Exteriores, Reinaldo Salgado, relatou as atividades do Processo Político com destaque para a realização da simulação do Tribunal Internacional da Justiça pelas Águas, que contou com a presença de membros de supremas cortes de seis países. O senador Jorge Viana (PT-AC) destacou a presença de 134 parlamentares de 20 países.

Torkil Clausen e Jorge Werneck,  presidente e vice-presidente do comitê do Processo Temático, deram destaque às 95 sessões ordinárias e uma especial, todas com participação de mulheres. As sessões do Processo Regional, segundo Irani Braga Ramos, vice-presidente do comitê que trabalhou com o tema, tiveram um público total de 6.765 pessoas, de 101 países.

Novidades na 8ª edição do Fórum Mundial da Água, a Vila Cidadã contou com público de mais de 100 mil pessoas presentes, sendo 40 mil crianças. Já o Grupo Focal de Sustentabilidade teve forte representatividade do setor empresarial privado e de empresas de saneamento.

Tatiana Silva, representante jovem do Conselho Mundial da Água, chamou a atenção para a capacidade e potencial dos jovens em cooperar e mandou um recado para a comissão organizadora do próximo Fórum, no Senegal. “A gente não aceita um Fórum Mundial da Água com nenhum jovem a menos”. Na sequência, voluntários do 8º Fórum Mundial da Água subiram ao palco para uma fotografia com os responsáveis pelos processos.

Prêmio de Quioto

Durante a cerimônia, a associação Charité Chrétienne Pour Personnes en Détresse (CCPD) organização de Caridade Cristã para pessoas em Situação de Risco, com sede no Togo, recebeu o Grande Prêmio da Água de Quioto.

A Caridade Cristã para pessoas em Situação de Risco capacita de indivíduos e grupos comunitários para melhorar o acesso a água potável e saneamento por meio da construção e remodelação de instalações de água potável e saneamento.

A CCPD recebeu o equivalente a US$ 18 mil dólares, que servirá para implementar o projeto e promover a gestão da água em Togo.

9º Fórum Mundial da Água

Daqui a três anos, o Fórum Mundial da Água voltará ao continente Africano, que teve sua origem, no Marrocos, em 1997. A representante do governo federal, Cristiane Dias Ferreira, diretora-presidente da Agência Nacional de Água (ANA), o governador do Distrito Federal, Rodrigo Rollemberg, o presidente do Conselho Mundial da Água, Benedito Braga, o diretor executivo do 8º Fórum Mundial da Água, Ricardo Andrade e o co-presidente do Comitê Organizador do 8º Fórum Mundial da Água, Paulo Salles, juntamente com outros membros da comissão organizadora, trocaram presentes com os integrantes do Comitê de Preparação do 9º Fórum Mundial da Água, que será realizado no Senegal.

A passagem da bandeira do Fórum Mundial da Água simbolizou o reinício do trabalho contínuo do Fórum Mundial da Água. Os presentes assistiram um vídeo sobre o país anfitrião de 2021. Em seu discurso, o presidente do comitê do 9º Fórum Mundial da Água no Senegal, Abdoulaye Sene, elogiou a realização brasileira do fórum e anunciou o tema da próxima edição:  segurança hídrica.

Rollemberg agradeceu ao Conselho Mundial da Água pela confiança depositada na cidade de Brasília para a realização da oitava edição do Fórum Mundial da Água e a todos os envolvidos na realização do evento. “Aqui cientistas, autoridades, sociedade civil, de forma franca, fraterna e aberta, compartilharam experiências e visões. Eu tenho a convicção de que ninguém será o mesmo depois de ter participado do 8º Fórum Mundial da Água”, declarou o governador. Rollemberg lembrou que a água é o tema mais importante para o futuro da humanidade e desejou sucesso aos senegaleses.

Benedito Braga destacou que, nesses três anos de trabalho, pode contar com a parceria, a participação cidadã e política, “sem as quais não seria possível a realização do 8º Fórum Mundial da Água”. “Atingimos plenamente nosso objetivo. Tivemos não só um número muito grande de pessoas participando, mas tivemos uma qualidade de trabalhos fantástica”, revelou. Ele contou que a Carta de Brasília, documento resultante da Conferência de Juízes, será levada ao Papa Francisco, que demonstrou interesse no assunto.
