Desafios do Saneamento Ambiental: Rondônia é o 25º estado a receber o debate

Nesta segunda-feira, 23 de outubro, a Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES Diretoria Nacional promoveu mais um encontro do Ciclo de Debates “Desafios do Saneamento Ambiental”. Esta foi a vez de Porto Velho, em Rondônia, receber a discussão, que já passou, com sucesso, por quase todos os estados do Brasil. Realizado no Centro Universitário São Lucas, o encontro reuniu 42 pessoas entre acadêmicos, representantes de empresas públicas, como a Agência Estadual de Vigilância em Saúde – Agevisa e a Fundação Nacional de Saúde -Funasa, e diretores do Sindicato os Engenheiros.

O público presente assistiu à palestra do presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, acerca dos 10 anos da Lei de Saneamento e o saneamento na Região Norte e em Rondônia. O evento contemplou também com um debate sobre o tema “saneamento público ou privado”.

Para o representante da ABES-RO, Cezar Oliveira, foi um debate muito produtivo. Segundo ele, a discussão, que contou com a presença de dois jornalistas, despertou o interesse dos participantes em fazer parte da ABES, publicar trabalhos na revista cientifica e participar do 30º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental da ABES, que acontecerá em Natal, no Rio Grande do Norte, em 2019. “Eles entenderam a questão do saneamento na Região Norte e que precisamos cobrar das autoridades locais um maior empenho na área”, destaca Cezar.

Cesar frisou que o debate sobre o tema “público/privado” também despertou interesse porque Roberval Tavares mostrou os dois lados da questão. “Ficou claro para público presente que esse é um desafio do qual todos nós temos que participar, tanto nós, da ABES, em quem pese positivamente essa responsabilidade, como a sociedade, a comunidade acadêmica, no sentido de desenvolver projetos e pesquisas dentro do saneamento.”

Seção Rondônia da ABES

O evento, de acordo com Cezar Oliveira, serviu também para somar forças para a reativação da ABES Seção Rondônia (ABES-RO). “O Sindicato dos Engenheiros tem sido um parceiro muito importante. O evento foi bom para mostrar para eles o que é a ABES de uma forma mais palpável e que é possível realmente ter uma união estabelecida entre a ABES e o Sindicato dos Engenheiros do Estado de Rondônia”, disse.
