Com apoio da ABES, Rio de Janeiro sediará Congresso Mundial da Confederação Internacional do Comércio em 2019

A cidade do Rio de Janeiro foi eleita para receber a 11ª edição do Congresso Mundial da Internacional Chamber of Commerce – ICC, organização que congrega as confederações de todos os países do mundo. A CACB- Confederação das Associações Comerciais do Brasil, em parceria com a Associação Comercial do Rio de Janeiro – ACRio e apoio da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária – ABES, será a co-realizadora do evento, que ocorrerá em 2019.

O Congresso reúne líderes de Câmaras e os seus membros de negócios para compartilhar  experiências e conhecimentos; explorar futuras oportunidades de desenvolvimento; e discutir as tendências globais que afetam suas comunidades locais.

Segundo o diretor nacional da ABES e vice-presidente do Conselho Empresarial de Meio Ambiente e Sustentabilidade da ACRio, Joper Padrão do Espírito Santo, a ACCB e a ACRio encabeçaram a candidatura da cidade maravilhosa. As concorrentes do Brasil foram a Câmara de Comércio de Bogotá (Colômbia) e da Câmara Regional de Comércio Orlando (Estados Unidos).A reunião do ICC, que recepcionou as candidaturas, ocorreu em Madri, na Espanha, em novembro.

Joper Padrão explica que diferencial para a escolha do Rio de Janeiro como sede do encontro mundial foi a identidade da cidade anfitriã com a sustentabilidade. “Para consagrar essa identidade, além de um vídeo gravado pelo prefeito em que frisa momentos como a Rio 92, a Rio +20 e as Olimpíadas Sustentáveis de 2016, a Comitiva da CACB e da ACRio levaram no dossiê a declaração de apoio da ABES, reconhecida como a maior e mais importante entidade técnico-científico a expressar o seu apoio”, ressalta.
