A Fundação Nacional de Saúde – Funasa promoveu um evento especial em 26 de maio, penúltimo dia da Brazil Water Week – Semana da Água do Brasil 2022, sobre saneamento ambiental. Apresentações foram feitas por Ana Elisa Martinelli Finazzi, consultora da Organização Pan-Americana da Saúde – OPAS na coordenação do Programa em Saneamento em Saúde – COSAS, e Rodrigo Passos Barrêto, consultor OPAS/Funasa. A moderação foi feita pela jornalista Daniela Lobo.
O evento teve transmitido na plataforma exclusiva da BWW e também foi aberto ao público no canal da ABES no YouTube (disponível aqui).
Na ocasião, Ana Elisa Martinelli Finazzi ministrou a palestra “Atuação da Funasa no fomento à implantação de Melhorias Sanitárias Domiciliares (MSD): Avanços e Desafios”. A convidada comentou sobre o número de residências sem acesso a banheiro no Brasil, que é de 16 milhões, cerca de 5 milhões de pessoas, segundo dados do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatísticas (IBGE).
Ela explicou que para auxiliar a população, a Funasa criou o Programa MSD, que oferece apoio financeiro para execução de projetos de melhorias sanitárias. São realizadas intervenções nos domicílios, com o objetivo de atender às necessidades básicas de saneamento das famílias, por meio de instalações hidrossanitárias relacionadas ao uso da água, à higiene e ao destino adequado dos esgotos domiciliares na zona urbana e rural. A entidade também indica tecnologias e modelos adequados para cada região e disponibiliza modelos de projetos técnicos de engenharia. O programa atende estados e municípios com até 50.000 habitantes por meio de um Edital de Chamamento Público.
Rodrigo Passos Barrêto discorreu sobre o tema “Atuação da Funasa na implementação da ação de apoio aos catadores sobre a ótica do novo marco regulatório das organizações da sociedade civil”. O consultor abordou o CODRE (Coordenação de Dre
nagem e Resíduos – Funasa), área responsável pela área de drenagem e resíduos sólidos e apoio aos catadores. Abordou ainda o amparo legal, apoio e recursos, que a Funasa oferece às cooperativas e catadores de coleta seletiva nesses municípios com menos 50.000 habitantes tembém por meio de Edital de Chamamento Público. Além disso, apresentou cases de sucesso e resultados das parcerias realizadas.

Considerada o streaming do saneamento, a Brazil Water Week – Semana da Água do Brasil, realizada pela ABES, aconteceu de 23 a 27 de maio, no formato virtual, em plataforma digital exclusiva e interativa e reuniu mais de 100 participantes nacionais e internacionais de 22 países.
