ABES-RS: conheça os vencedores do Prêmio José Lutzenberger de Jornalismo Ambiental

Cerimônia ocorrida no Teatro Bruno Kiefer premiou os melhores trabalhos com foco ambiental

Na última terça, 17 de outubro, a Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental Seção Rio Grande do Sul (ABES-RS), em parceria com a Associação Riograndense de Imprensa – ARI e a Braskem, promoveu a cerimônia de premiação dos vencedores da quarta edição do Prêmio José Lutzenberger de Jornalismo Ambiental. Com a presença de cerca de 200 jornalistas dos mais representativos veículos de comunicação do Rio Grande do Sul, o evento ocorreu no Teatro Bruno Kiefer, na Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana.

A cerimônia foi conduzida pela jornalista Cris Silva que, antes de iniciar os anúncios das premiações por categoria, apresentou o quinteto Voice In ao público. Formada por jovens músicos gaúchos, o conjunto apresentou interpretações de músicas pop e medleys originais de autoria própria.

Sidnei Gusmão, representante da ABES-RS, falou em nome dos jurados. Ele enfatizou o fato de que o aumento no número de trabalhos inscritos mostra a consolidação da promoção. “O Prêmio está se mostrando uma referência na temática ambiental e é muito gratificante ver o número crescente de trabalhos com muita qualidade, principalmente, de estudantes”, destacou.

O diretor de Relações Institucionais da Braskem, Ruy Freire, abordou, de forma breve, a criação do Polo Petroquímico de Triunfo, ressaltando a importância da participação da imprensa no debate ambiental que surgiu neste momento. “Em 1975, nos questionávamos sobre o porquê da criação do polo aqui no Estado, de que forma seria o impacto ambiental. Hoje, temos uma área de 68 hectares de preservação ambiental e o polo se tornou referência mundial. É possível fazer desenvolvimento econômico em harmonia com a natureza”, explicou Freire.

Para a presidente da ABES-RS, Jussara Kalil, é papel dos jornalistas motivarem a sociedade a participar do debate sobre a área ambiental. “É muito importante que as redações estejam abertas a estas pautas, que haja espaço para a temática ambiental ser debatida. É muito gratificante também ver que os professores estão levando este conteúdo para a sala de aula”, afirmou Jussara.

O presidente da Associação Riograndense de Imprensa (ARI), Luiz Adolfo de Souza, destacou a trajetória do patrono da premiação. “José Lutzenberger merecia um prêmio de resistência, por sua grande luta em defesa do meio ambiente. É de extrema importância que os professores sigam estimulando, na academia, este tema; que os estudantes possam saber quem foi Lutzenberger”.

Ao final da cerimônia, os profissionais inscritos e que estavam presentes ao ato, participaram de um sorteio que garantia uma vaga na cerimônia do Prêmio Octávio Brandão de Jornalismo Ambiental em Maceió, em 2018. A premiação é realizada pela Braskem, em parceria com a Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (ABES-AL) e Sindicato dos Jornalistas de Alagoas (Sindjornal). A ganhadora da viagem foi a jornalista Jeniffer Gularte.

A comissão julgadora foi formada pelos profissionais da ABES-RS Emilio Roberto Wild (Conselho Fiscal), Sidnei Gusmão Agra (Diretor), Walter Lorenzo Zilio (Engenheiro Ambiental) e Cecy Oliveira (jornalista); do Sindicato dos Jornalistas Profissionais do RS, Milton Simas (presidente); da Associação dos Repórteres Fotográficos e Cinematográficos do Estado do RS, Dudu Contursi (representante); e pelos representantes da ARI Laura Glüer, Antonio Czamanski, Glei Soares e Mário Rocha.
