ABES Conecta: webinar detalha norma sobre criação de aterros sanitários de pequeno porte

Evento online reúne especialistas e aborda os principais pontos da NBR 15849/2010 e a erradicação dos lixões.

Nesta terça-feira, 28 de abril, foi realizado pela ABES Seção Acre um webinar gratuito sob o tema “Critérios para localização, projetos e implantação de aterros sanitários de pequeno porte, no contexto da NBR 15849/2010”. O objetivo do evento foi apresentar os principais pontos da norma, que estimula a criação de aterros para pôr fim aos lixões e, assim, reduzir os impactos ambientais causados pela destinação incorreta de resíduos. O encontro foi moderado por Julio Cesar Pinho Mattos, presidente da ABES-AC, que traçou um breve cenário do Brasil em relação à Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS). Além disso, apontou a atual situação sobre o fim dos lixões, ainda longe da meta ideal. “Estamos muito distantes da erradicação dos lixões em nosso país, principalmente, nas regiões Norte, Centro-Oeste, Sudeste e Nordeste”, declarou Mattos.

Em seguida, Maurício Souza, presidente da ABES-AP, e Denise Duarte, diretora da ABES-MT, detalharam os principais pontos da NBR 15849/10. A norma aborda os requisitos mínimos para localização, projeto, implantação e operação de aterros sanitários de pequeno porte. O intuito é propor soluções adequadas à realidade geográfica de cada município, facilitando a construção dos aterros e impedindo a proliferação dos lixões.

“É considerado aterro sanitário de pequeno porte qualquer instalação onde ocorra a disposição final de resíduos sólidos urbanos de até 20 toneladas por dia”, explicou Souza. Ele pontua que o sistema pode ser simplificado no processo da criação do aterro, mas pondera: “Essa simplificação não deve causar prejuízos ao meio ambiente e saúde pública”, salientou.

Já Denise acrescentou alguns outros quesitos da norma e comentou: “A ideia da NBR 15849/10 é justamente baixar o custo operacional”. Ela abordou ainda os tipos de aterros, diretrizes de localização, seleção e de proteção ambiental, entre outros tópicos.
