ABES Conecta: tecnologia para zonas rurais premiada pela ONU é tema de roda de conversa online do JPS

Programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento, da ABES, realizou evento prévio à final do Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo, que ocorrerá online dia 5 de junho.

A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES, por meio do programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento da entidade (JPS), promoveu uma roda de conversa online na tarde desta sexta, 22 de maio, com o tema “Tecnologia premiada pela ONU: desinfecção solar da água para zonas rurais”. O evento integra o programa ABES Conecta, cujos webinares já alcançaram mais de 25 mil visualizações por profissionais e estudantes do setor e meio ambiente.

O debate teve mediação do coordenador nacional do JPS, Álvaro Diogo Teixeira, e apresentação de Anna Luisa Beserra, vencedora do Prêmio Jovens Campeões da Terra da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU). E contou ainda com as participações de Gabriel Trindade e Lívia Pinaso, vencedores nacionais das edições de 2017 e 2019 (respectivamente) do Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo (clique aqui para assistir ao webinar).

Álvaro Teixeira iniciou o webinar abordando o Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo. “Nossa conversa é um esquenta e incentivo para os jovens inscritos na edição do Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo 2020”, disse ele, lembrando que a grande final brasileira será realizada online no dia 5 de junho, às 14h, pelo ABES Conecta (faça aqui a sua inscrição para assistir ao evento).

Anna Luisa Beserra contou um pouco sobre a sua trajetória. A jovem iniciou sua pesquisa sobre o semiárido brasileiro e encontrou o SODIS (Solar Water DISinfection), metodologia que utiliza a radiação solar para matar os microrganismos presentes na água através de exposição das garrafas PETs ao Sol. Segundo ela, o Aqualuz surgiu com estudos aprofundados sobre as limitações técnicas dessa técnica para desinfecção de água de cisterna do semiárido.

Anna Luisa encontrou grandes desafios, mas durante a sua vida acadêmica o projeto começou a sair do papel. “Encontrei muita dificuldade na época da escola por falta de incentivo e investimento. Durante a minha graduação comecei a participar de programas acadêmicos e com o projeto finalizado começou a ter investimento. No ano de 2019, o Projeto Aqualuz foi o grande vencedor do Prêmio Jovens Campeões da Terra da ONU”, narrou.

Embaixadora do JPS e exemplo para milhares de jovens, Anna conta que o prêmio abriu muitas portas. “Passei a ser reconhecida. Fez toda diferença em minha carreira profissional. É um retorno muito positivo virar inspiração para os jovens e saber que os projetos contribuem para a população. O que puder contribuir irei fazer com prazer”, afirmou a jovem.

Hoje, de acordo com ela, o Aqualuz foi implantado em cinco estados do Nordeste (Ceará, Alagoas, Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte e Pernambuco) e contribui com milhares de famílias, que recebem a tecnologia de forma gratuita, graças aos parceiros da startup. “As famílias recebem muito bem a tecnologia e agradecem por terem autonomia. Para mim, é gratificante poder melhorar a qualidade de vida das pessoas”, frisou Anna Luisa.

Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo

Livia Luiza Pinaso, juntamente com Victor Marotta, foi vencedora da etapa brasileira do Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo (em 2019), com o trabalho intitulado “Síntese de partículas de magnetita associadas a carvão ativo e poliuretano para a adsorção de corantes e íons de Cd e Co”.

Livia explicou que o protótipo desenvolvido propõe a remoção de metais da água por adsorção em uma associação de carvão ativado e Poliuretano. “Participar das feiras e das premiações da área me trouxeram desenvolvimento pessoal e possibilitou conhecer grandes profissionais. Quando participei da FEBRACE (Feira Brasileira de Ciências e Engenharia), conheci o professor Daniel Cornejo, do Instituto de Física da USP, que inclusive me orientou para o trabalho”, contou. A experiência do prêmio me trouxe desenvolvimento e melhorou a minha comunicação verbal”, finalizou a jovem.

Gabriel Gertrudes Trindade foi vencedor da edição 2017 do Prêmio, juntamente com Beatriz Ruscetto e Matheus Henrique Cezar da Silva, com o trabalho “STAC-IBR: Solução para o Tratamento de Água nas Cisternas Instaladas no Brasil”. Segundo o jovem, o projeto apresenta um equipamento capaz de gerar cloro a partir da eletrólise de uma solução salina, visando contribuir para a saúde da população do seminário nordestino.

Para ele, o essencial para um projeto é ter uma boa escrita técnica, conhecer muito bem o projeto e explicar a sua finalidade, além de frequentar feiras. Ser vencedor da premiação mudou a sua vida. “O prêmio me abriu muitas portas, conheci novos projetos, lugares e pessoas. É importante também saber que temos representatividade. As premiações nos dão esperança que é possível fazer ciência dentro do Brasil”, concluiu Gabriel.
