Edital Finep/MCTI selecionará projetos de pesquisa na cadeia de produção de biogás e biometano

Serão apoiados projetos de empresas com faturamento a partir de R$ 360 mil. Prazo para envio de propostas vai até 26 de agosto.

A Finep – Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos abriu o Edital Finep/MCTI Desenvolvimento da Cadeia do Biogás, que destinará R$ 20 milhões de recursos FNDCT de Subvenção Econômica a empresas brasileiras para o desenvolvimento de produtos, processos e/ou serviços inovadores para a cadeira de Biogás – Biometano, com alto rendimento e eficiência energética.

Serão apoiados projetos de empresas com faturamento a partir de R$ 360 mil. O valor médio de recursos aprovados por proposta poderá variar de R$ 1 milhão a R$ 4 milhões. O recebimento de propostas se encerra em 26 de agosto de 2022.  

Biogás

O biogás é um produto da degradação de matéria orgânica (restos de alimentos, bagaço e vinhaça da cana, carcaça de animais, resíduos sólidos, lodo do esgoto, etc.) na ausência de oxigênio. O biometano é produto da purificação do biogás. O processo de purificação envolve a retirada de umidade, gás carbônico e sulfeto de hidrogênio. O resultado é um gás com maior poder de combustão e equivalente ao gás natural, quando usado como combustível automotivo, com a vantagem de ser uma fonte de energia limpa, ou seja, mitigar a emissão de gases nocivos ao meio ambiente e à atmosfera.

Estima-se que existam hoje no Brasil 700 plantas de produção de biogás contra as 19 mil existentes na Europa, sendo que o País tem capacidade de produção para suprir quase 40% da demanda nacional de energia elétrica e substituir em 70% o consumo brasileiro de diesel. Alguns exemplos das linhas temáticas do Edital são: soluções para pré-tratamento de biomassa residual (como o desenvolvimento e/ou otimização de métodos para melhorar a biodegradabilidade anaeróbica do material e seu potencial na produção de biogás) e biotecnologia e insumos biotecnológicos para a biodigestão (soluções para complexidade das interações dos microrganismos no processo de biodigestão e para o desenvolvimento e conservação da microbiota no reator anaeróbio visando maior produção de biogás).

A análise de mérito das propostas será feita por Comitê de Avaliação, constituído por analistas da Finep e consultores internos ou externos. Os critérios de avaliação compreendem, entre outros: o grau de inovação dos projetos, considerando o ineditismo e o nível de aprimoramento das soluções propostas; o risco tecnológico e a capacidade da solução desenvolvida em alcançar o mercado.  O resultado final está previsto para 6 de dezembro de 2022.
