Congresso da ABES: especialistas abordam os desafios do tratamento de esgotos no Brasil na terceira sessão especial

Universalização e atendimento a Legislação Ambiental nortearam o debate, que integra as atividades de aquecimento para o 31° Congresso da ABES que será realizado de 17 a 20 de outubro, de forma presencial, em Curitiba/PR, e online, em plataforma digital exclusiva.

Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES realizou nesta terça-feira, 28 de setembro, por meio do programa ABES Conecta, o terceiro webinar de aquecimento para o Congresso da ABES 2021. A sessão especial reuniu especialistas para discutir “Os desafios do tratamento de esgoto no Brasil: Universalização e Atendimento a Legislação Ambiental”.

O webinar, que foi transmitido pelo canal da ABES no YouTube, teve moderação de Célia Rennó, diretora nacional da ABES para região sudeste. As palestras foram realizadas por Alexandre Araújo Godeiro Carlos, superintendente adjunto de Regulação e Serviços da Agência Nacional de Águas e Saneamento Básico (ANA); Marcelo Miki, coordenador adjunto da Câmara Temática da ABES de Tratamento de Esgoto; Marcos Von Sperling, professor da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) e André Lermontov, superintendente da Água do Brasil.

Alexandre Araújo falou sobre as atividades legais que ficaram a cargo da ANA (Agência Nacional de Águas e Saneamento Básico), com os processos de elaboração das normas de referência e a regulação de serviços, após alteração no regimento interno ocorrida em julho deste ano. Marcelo Miki informou como se inicia um processo de licenciamento ambiental e um projeto de ETEs (Estação de Tratamento de Esgoto). Ele apresentou um modelo dos Estado Unidos. André Lermontov falou sobre a atuação do Grupo Águas do Brasil e fez uma projeção do valor de investimento financeiro, na casa R$ 750 bilhões, que seriam necessários para a universalização dos serviços de tratamento de esgoto no país. Marcos Von Sperling fez sua apresentação focando nos padrões de qualidade para os corpos de água e não nos padrões de lançamento.

Os participantes acreditam que o monitoramento, estudo detalhado dos locais, algumas revisões e o cumprimento das leis são fundamentais para se chegar à universalização do tratamento de esgoto no país, sempre respeitando as questões ambientais e investindo recursos de força sustentável e eficiente.
