32º Congresso da ABES: secretário Nacional de Saneamento aborda os caminhos da universalização dos serviços no setor

Leonardo Picciani ministrou a primeira Palestra Magna no evento, no dia 22 de maio, e destacou particularidades regionais e desafios a serem percorridos.

Os caminhos da universalização dos serviços de saneamento. Este foi o tema da Palestra Magna de abertura do primeiro dia de programação do 32º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (CBESA) – o Congresso da ABES, na manhã de segunda-feira, 22 de maio. O palestrante convidado foi Leonardo Picciani, secretário Nacional de Saneamento Ambiental, com moderação de Alceu Guérios Bittencourt, presidente da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES.

O mais importante evento de saneamento do país, aconteceu de 21 a 24 de maio, no Expominas, em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

“Para nós do setor, é muito importante conhecer o secretário Nacional de Saneamento de forma próxima e ouvir suas palavras. Há muitos anos, foi uma demanda que o setor tivesse um endereço, que hoje é a secretaria, pois tudo era tratado de forma espalhada na administração pública, particularmente no Governo Federal”, ressaltou Alceu Guérios Bittencourt.

“A visão do Governo Federal e do Ministério das Cidades é a de que o debate constante e permanente com as entidades do setor, operadores e academia é fundamental para que a gente vá aperfeiçoando os instrumentos disponíveis atualmente. Assim, vamos conseguir ser mais ágeis, eficientes e eficazes no enfrentamento ao déficit que temos e na necessidade de alcançar as metas propostas pelo Marco do Saneamento, de chegar à universalização na próxima década”, pontuou Picciani.

Durante a palestra, o secretário ainda apresentou a situação atual do saneamento no Brasil, abordando as particularidades regionais, e detalhou os caminhos que devem ser percorridos até a universalização dos serviços.

De forma simultânea ao Congresso, aconteceu a Feira Internacional de Tecnologias de Saneamento Ambiental – Fitabes, em edição ampliada, com novidades em tecnologia e inovação.
