Segundo o relatório, os países de baixa e média renda podem fazer a transição para caminhos de crescimento resilientes e de baixo carbono se as principais condições forem atendidas com apoio internacional. 

Investir uma média de 1,4% do PIB anualmente poderia reduzir as emissões nos países em desenvolvimento em até 70% até 2050 e aumentar a resiliência, de acordo com um novo relatório do Grupo Banco Mundial, divulgado nesta semana, dias antes do início da COP 27, a Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre Mudanças Climáticas, a ser realizada de 6 a 18 de novembro de 2022 em Sharm El Sheikh, Egito.

A análise integra o relatório Clima e Desenvolvimento: Uma Agenda para Ação, que compila e harmoniza os resultados dos Relatórios de Clima e Desenvolvimento por País do Grupo Banco Mundial (leia aqui em inglês https://www.worldbank.org/en/publication/country-climate-development-reports) , abrangendo mais de 20 países que respondem por 34% das emissões mundiais de gases de efeito estufa (GEE).
