Léo Heller, relator especial das Nações Unidas para o direito humano à água e ao saneamento e associado da ABES, acaba de encerrar uma visita de 10 dias ao país. Léo Heller esteve em Lisboa, Porto e arredores, acompanhado da relatora para o direito à habitação, Leilani Farha.

Já em Madri, Heller concedeu entrevista à Rádio ONU esta terça-feira, onde fez um balanço das condições em Portugal. O relator está preocupado com as minorias, como migrantes, afrodescendentes e os povo Roma, ou ciganos.

Segundo ele, foram vistas condições de moradia “deploráveis”, inclusive casos de defecação a céu aberto. Por outro lado, Heller avalia que Portugal conquistou muitos progressos no setor de água e saneamento nas últimas décadas.
