Nesta quinta-feira, 23 de maio, a Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental ABES, representada pelo diretor nacional para a Região Nordeste, Josivan Cardoso, e pelo diretor da ABES-RN, Sérgio Bezerra Pinheiro, participou de uma Audiência Pública sobre a Medida Provisória 868, a MP do Saneamento. O evento aconteceu na Assembléia Legislativa do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte. Na ocasião, a ABES expôs dados que explicam os aspectos pelos quais entende que a MP 868, da forma proposta, não poderá ser aprovada.
Já nesta sexta, 24 de maio, o presidente da ABES-CE, Francisco Humberto de Carvalho Jr. participou de evento contra a MP do Saneamento realizado na Assembleia Legislativa do estado do Ceará.
Diga NÃO à MP do Saneamento
A ABES reforça o posicionamento contrário à Medida Provisória (MP) 868, que altera o marco legal do saneamento.

Trata-se de uma MP inconstitucional, que afeta a titularidade municipal, traz insegurança jurídica e que, segundo o próprio governo, será usada para cobrir o rombo fiscal dos estados, usando as empresas estatais de saneamento como moeda de troca.
A MP prejudicará os municípios mais pobres e vai gerar um grande risco de aumento das tarifas de água e esgoto em todo o país. Comprometerá a universalização dos serviços e, ao contrário do defendido pelo Governo Federal, promoverá a desestruturação do setor de saneamento, agravando as diferenças entre cidades ricas e pobres e tornando a população mais pobre mais sujeita às doenças.
Diante dessa ameaça, você também pode manifestar-se CONTRA A MP 868, enviando mensagens aos parlamentares de seu Estado.
