XI Simpósio Internacional de Qualidade Ambiental da ABES-RS: Palestra Magna de ex-ministra de Portugal abre evento em Porto Alegre

Foi realizado entre os dias 2 e 4 de outubro, em Porto Alegre, no Rio Grande do Sul, o 11º Simpósio Internacional de Qualidade Ambiental, que nesta edição traz como tema central “Meio Ambiente, Política e Economia”. O evento foi promovido pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES Seção Rio Grande do Sul (ABES-RS) e Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul – PUC-RS (onde ocorreu), em parceria com Fundação Estadual de Proteção Ambiental Henrique Luiz Roessler/ RS – FEPAM e Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS.

A abertura do evento contou com uma Palestra Magna da engenheira química Dulce Álvaro Pássaro, ex-Ministra de Meio Ambiente de Portugal. “A partir do exemplo da gestão de resíduos em Portugal, a palestrante abordou temas como a necessidade de indicadores e informações confiáveis, a importância de envolvimento dos cidadãos e a necessidade de clareza dos custos dos serviços”, destaca Jussara. “Dulce finalizou pontuando que a gestão eficiente do saneamento, em Portugal, é um dos pontos de atração de investimentos no país europeu”, conta.
Entre os temas discutidos no simpósio estão os impactos dos fatores econômicos e políticos na definição e implantação de soluções tecnológicas, a exemplo das tecnologias para reuso de água, aproveitamento de lodos de esgotos sanitários, minimização do uso de água, eficiência energética, energias alternativas, reciclagem e reaproveitamento de resíduos sólidos. Pretende-se, ainda, discutir os principais problemas ambientais brasileiros e gaúchos, bem como temas como o enfrentamento das consequências das mudanças climáticas, e sua relação com a economia e a política.

No segundo dia do evento, os palestrantes abordaram os temas “Meio Ambiente, Política e Economia”, “A gestão de riscos e os avanços na proteção ambiental” e “Gestão do conhecimento e proteção ambiental”. Na ocasião, também houve apresentações de trabalhos.


Os temas que nortearam o terceiro e último dia do evento foram “Políticas econômicas e o estimulo ao reuso da água”, “Economia circular: uma nova visão para gestão de resíduos. Experiências Nacionais e Internacionais”, “Mudanças Climáticas e seus riscos para o saneamento: Atingimento das normas da ODS”,e “Os avanços no saneamento e seus reflexo na economia e meio ambiente”.
