ONU abre inscrições para concurso universitário de fotografias sobre desenvolvimento sustentável

Estão abertas, até 30 de agosto, as inscrições para um concurso de fotografia da Organização das Nações Unidas – ONU sobre os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) e também sobre a aceitação de refugiados e migrantes. Promovido pelo Centro de Informação das Nações Unidas no Japão (UNIC Tóquio) e pela Universidade de Sophia, a iniciativa é destinada a estudantes universitários — graduandos e pós-graduandos — ou de escolas técnicas e/ou profissionalizantes do mundo inteiro.

Participantes estão convidados a escolher um ou mais ODSs e expressar, por meio da fotografia, qual o significado que essas metas têm para eles. Em 2017, a brasileira Jhessica Almeida, de Quixadá, ficou em terceiro lugar na competição — que recebeu 624 inscrições de estudantes de de 47 países. A proposta do concurso é estimular universitários a apresentar a sua visão pessoal do que é o desenvolvimento sustentável.

O SDGs Student Photo Contest 2017 (no original, em inglês) conta ainda com a cooperação da agência Getty Images. Dentro do concurso, serão acordadas quatro premiações diferentes — o Grande Prêmio do Ministério das Relações Exteriores do Japão, o Prêmio de Excelência, o Prêmio Especial de Conceito dos ODS e o Prêmio de Reconhecimento — para imagens sobre a Agenda 2030 da ONU.

A competição também fará uma seleção especial para laurear fotografias que abordem os desafios de refugiados e migrantes. Esse prêmio leva o nome da campanha das Nações UnidasTogether (Juntos, em tradução livre), criada para promover o respeito à diversidade trazida pelas pessoas que deixam seus países de origem e se estabelecem em outras nações.
